Outside Space

If you have a balcony, garden or use of a communal space, it’s your responsibility to use it safely to prevent any fire risks. We understand that you want to enjoy the use of your outside space, however making sure it’s hazard free is important too.

Fire safety guidelines are in place to help you stay safe when using your balcony and outdoor spaces. You can’t have any fires or naked flames on your balcony or communal areas at any time. This includes barbeques, chimineas, fire pits and candles.

Why aren’t I allowed fires or naked flames in my outdoor space?

If a fire breaks out on your balcony, in your garden or in a communal outdoor space, it will spread much faster than inside your flat. This is because there is more oxygen and external conditions, such as wind, to help the fire grow.
