My Home Contents Insurance Scheme
To help you decide whether home contents insurance is right for you, we’ve teamed up with Thistle Tenant Risks. Their My Home Contents Insurance Scheme specialises in in social housing contents insurance.
The scheme offers you insurance for the contents of your home. This includes personal possessions and household items, such as furniture, carpets, curtains, clothes, bedding, electrical items, jewellery, pictures and ornaments.
It’s now easier to protect your belongings with the My Home online platform. You can buy and manage your home contents insurance online if you choose to pay monthly by Direct Debit.
Please note that paying by Direct Debit may cost more than other payment options.

You don't need to have a special door or window locks, as long as your outside door locks, that's fine
Covers theft, water damage, fire and many household risks
Covers replacement and installation of locks for outside doors, windows and alarms if keys are lost or stolen (up to £500)
Covers tenants' improvements (up to £2,000 or 20% of the sum insured, whichever is the greatest)
Covers theft or attempted theft of contents in sheds outbuildings and garages (up to £3,000)
Covers damage to external glazing for which you are responsible
