Girls Life Club

27 July to 27 August

A personal development programme and summer camp for girls aged 11–16, including life skills, movement and mindset, cooking, creative tech and more. Delivered in partnership with Essex County Council Youth Service.

Incredible Edibles

Thursdays, 10am–11am

Join the resident gardening group to help care for the community garden and grow fruit and vegetables. There are also crafts, activities and nature walks. Everyone is welcome.

Shed Inside

Wednesdays, 10am–1pm

A friendly woodworking, repair and social session open to men of all ages.

Friends of King Edward Community Event

Saturday 29 August, 11am–3pm

Meet neighbours, find out what's happening at the centre and share your ideas for future activities.

Community Cuppa

Tuesdays, 1pm–3pm

A weekly get-together for people over 50, with talks, games, activities and information sessions, from bingo to drama club. A special event on 8 September includes a trip to a Rat Pack show.

Pembury Community Centre, Hackney

Pembury Community Centre has a packed programme of activities to keep children, young people and families active, connected and entertained throughout the school holidays.

Windmill Park Community Centre, Southall

Windmill Park Community Centre is entering an exciting new chapter this summer, with a new programme of events designed to bring residents together and make the most of the space.

The centre recently held a free community celebration featuring a DJ, sports, dancing, a giant chalk graffiti takeover and more.

Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) Summer Camp

20 July–13 August

Free activities for children, including sports, arts and crafts, music, DJ sessions, healthy food and supervised play. Delivered with Sonshine Smiles Community CIC. Contact via WhatsApp on 07979 613236 to book one of the limited free spaces.

The HAF programme is taking place at both Windmill Park Children's Centre in Southall and Westcott Park Community Centre in Acton.

Sporting Inspirations CIC

The group will be hosting a pop-up sports zone at the upcoming fun day. The multi-sports initiative will also be back with weekly sessions after the summer break, starting from 21 September at the Windmill Park Community Centre. For ages 8-17.

Parkside Community Centre, Lewisham

Parkside Community Centre is a thriving community hub in south London, packed with activities for people of all ages. The centre recently hosted The Big Event in July, a community fun day that was bigger than ever. Now it's in the midst of another fun-packed summer.

Here's a flavour of what's on.

For children and young people

  • All summer long: Pristine Youth summer camp, run by Pristine Youth CIC in partnership with Peabody. A packed programme of events including games and activities at the youth club, trips, creative sessions, cooking, climbing and more (Ages 8+).
  • Thursdays: Pristine Youth Club, 6pm–9pm (ages 8+)
  • Saturdays: Fridays: Youth workshop on housing options, 4.30pm–6pm (ages 13–25)
  • Fun and creative workshops, 11am–12.30pm (ages 5–10), plus a leadership and entrepreneurship programme from 2pm (ages 10–17)
  • Tuesdays: Dance classes for women, 6.30pm–7.30pm (ages 16+)

Learn and develop

  • Mondays: ESOL (English language) classes, 10am–12pm
  • Tuesdays: Art sessions (every second Tuesday), 2pm–5pm (ages 18+)
  • Wednesdays: Digital skills sessions, 10am–3pm, (ages 18-29)
  • Thursdays: Digital skills sessions, 10am–3pm, (ages 30-49)
  • Fridays: Adult education and career workshops, 6pm–7.30pm (ages 21+)

  • Mondays: Dream Catcher World employment and wellbeing sessions for older people, 12pm–5pm
