Following up from the North East London Resident Event.
Published: 23/07/2025
Earlier this year, many of you joined us at the Brady Arts and Community Centre in Tower Hamlets to share your views and recommendations.
In May, we shared some of the key themes raised with you. We’re now pleased to share how your feedback is starting to shape change across our services.
Repairs and maintenance

You said: You wanted more targeted drop-in surgeries in areas with persistent issues.
We’re doing: Our Resident Engagement team is now working closely with the Repairs team to deliver more localised surgeries, informed by wider resident feedback.
These will begin in the London Boroughs of Islington, Tower Hamlets and Waltham Forest, with dates and locations advertised locally. Updates and outcomes will be shared in regional newsletters so you can track progress.
Clarity and communication
Kitchens and bathrooms

You said: It’s hard to find clear information about refurbishments.
We’re doing: We’ll be improving how we communicate the refurbishment process, including timelines and what to expect.
Service charge invoices

You said: The invoices are confusing and lack clarity.
We’re doing: We’re reviewing the information provided with service charge letters to make them clearer and more transparent.
We’re also updating our website to make it easier to find and understand service charge details. Residents will be involved in reviewing these changes to ensure they meet your needs.
Additionally, Service Charge Specialists will now be assigned to specific neighbourhoods. This will help build stronger local knowledge and improve collaboration with your Neighbourhood Manager and other teams.
Communal spaces

You said: You want more estate walkabouts to identify and resolve issues together.
We’re doing: The Resident Engagement team is working with Estate Services and Neighbourhoods teams to schedule regular walkabouts. These will be promoted through local posters, newsletters, and team updates.
Estate Services will also continue monthly and quarterly health and safety inspections, with findings shared with the relevant teams to ensure timely action.
Community Safety

You said: You’d like the Community Safety team to be more visible and accessible.
We’re doing: The team will now attend local drop-in surgeries and participate in regular Neighbourhood team meetings, alongside partners such as the police and Street Link.
Community centres and funding opportunities

You said: You want better access to community centres and information on funding.
We’re doing: Our summer resident magazine included details of activities at local centres and how they support wellbeing. The autumn issue will feature information on funding opportunities and warm spaces.
We’ll also share this information at local surgeries and in newsletters, including how to start a Tenant and Resident Association (TRA).
Your feedback continues to be a vital part of shaping the services we deliver. Thank you for your ongoing involvement and commitment to improving our communities.
