“Own Your Future” takes place on Wednesday 4 March at Pembury Community Centre, during National Careers Week (2–7 March). It’s for young people who are thinking about work, apprenticeships or further training.
At the event, you’ll be able to meet employers, ask questions and find out what different jobs and careers are really like. Some organisations will also be sharing live opportunities for jobs, apprenticeships and training in the area.
You can get free help with your CV and speak to advisers about your options. There will also be soft drinks, snacks and a few freebies on the day.
A chance to meet employers
Exhibitors on the day will include housebuilder and developer The Hill Group, construction and property services company KBH Haus, design, engineering and project delivery company AtkinsRéalis, and security company City Group Security.
The King’s Trust will also be there to share information about local programmes and support available to young people.
The event is organised by Peabody Community Foundation, our charitable arm. It’s part of our wider work to help young people move into jobs and training, including raising awareness of careers in housing and construction.
We also offer apprenticeships through the Peabody Academy. This gives you the chance to earn while you learn and build a career in housing.
