A new space for young adults is opening on the Friary Park estate in Acton later this year – and it’s all about helping people build confidence, skills and connections.

The Self Belief Community Hub is being created by the Jamal Edwards Self Belief Trust, in partnership with us and Mount Anvil. It’s located just two minutes from Acton Main Line station, in the neighbourhood where Jamal grew up.

The Hub will open in spring. It’s designed for people aged 18–31, especially if you’re facing challenges finding long-term work or opportunities.

Inside, there will be:

  • Music and podcast studios
  • Creative co-working and lounge spaces
  • A shared courtyard
  • A subsidised kitchen serving daily meals
  • A programme of events focused on creativity, wellbeing, life skills and employment

This Hub will offer somewhere safe and welcoming to spend time, learn new skills and meet others.

Some young people will be able to access fully funded membership. This includes free meals, weekly support from youth workers, employability programmes and help to find paid opportunities, internships and mentoring.

The Hub builds on the Trust’s work supporting young people to grow in confidence and believe in their potential. It reflects Jamal’s message that success starts with self belief.

Friary Park itself is being transformed. Alongside the Hub, there will be new homes, improved green spaces, a community kitchen and garden, and affordable workspace for local businesses.
We’re providing the Trust with a 10-year rent-free lease and funding to help fit out the building, so this space can open its doors to the community.

We’ll share more details about how to get involved and when the Hub will open as the launch gets closer.
