Thank you to everyone who joined us to mark the 150th anniversary of Blackfriars estate.

The Blackfriars Estate in Southwark was built in 1871 on the former site of The Magdalen Hospital for the Reception of Penitent Prostitutes. The cost of purchase was covered by George Peabody’s original donation and the estate was the sixth to be built by Peabody.

We recently celebrated its 150th anniversary at an outdoor event, co-hosted by @Blak_Outside. There were also history tours on the day led by Peabody historian Christine Wagg. You can watch a video about the day below.
