Black History Month 365 - Windrush Day, April 2024

Black History Month Fund

We’re working with A2Dominion and other housing associations to celebrate Black History all year round. Our ‘Black History Month Fund 365’ offers grants four times a year where local voluntary and community organisations can apply for up to £1,000 to help with planning or running projects. Funding is now open for April and runs to Friday 24 May.

The fund has helped bring many wonderful events to life throughout the year including a Windrush Tea Dance celebrating African and Caribbean culture through traditional dance, a cross-generation photographic project and a Caribbean food lunch club. The fund complements our support of Black History Month in October and helps raise awareness year-round.

The fund is a partnership between Peabody and fellow housing associations A2 Dominion, Metropolitan Thames Valley, Sovereign Housing Association and Network Homes. We’re working to bring communities together, promote awareness and celebrate the contributions of women and men of African and Caribbean heritage.

Celebrating black history is a significant part of Peabody’s culture. We organise and support events in our communities and with colleagues to recognise the achievements and contributions of people of black heritage around the world.
