Applications for the Kerslake Award are open
The Kerslake Award offers £40,000 in grants to support community projects and activities, in memory of our late Chair, Lord Bob Kerslake.

Lord Kerslake worked as a senior civil servant in central and local government, he was President of the Local Government Association and Chair to health, education and social housing organisations. Lord Kerslake worked tirelessly to improve people's lives. The fund will help honour his passion to help people in our communities flourish.
Here’s how you can apply and what you need to know:
The details
How much is the fund?
£40,000 every year.
How much funding could I receive?
You could receive up to £2,000 for your project, meaning we’ll be funding at least 20 projects every year.
When can I apply?
Applications are open now, and close Friday 25 October 2024.
Applications will open twice a year, in September and April. £20,000 will be given in each application round.
Application form for individuals
The fund is open to local people, charities and community organisations who have ideas for projects or events that help Peabody residents to become happier, healthier or wealthier.
Grants can support regular activities, clubs, or one-off events. They might:

Bring the community together

Reduce loneliness

Get people active

Improve mental health

Help young people

Support people from becoming homeless

Provide resettlement support to refugees.

Join our webinar to find out more about the Kerslake Award
On 10 October at 6pm, we'll be running an online session to discuss the Kerslake award. This will be a chance to find out more about the award and the application process, and our fundraising team will answer any questions you may have. A recording will also be made available after the event.
Kerslake Award Bursary Scheme
To further honour Lord Kerslake's legacy we will also be launching a £10,000 bursary fund in 2025 to provide Peabody residents aged 16-24 with financial support towards further education, training or gaining work experience.
