Rented housing and older people
We're sponsoring an inquiry and would value your input.
The inquiry, called 'Rental Housing for an Ageing Population', is being carried out by the All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Housing and Care for Older People. It will be chaired by Lord Richard Best.
This Group works to set the agenda for developing better, more joined-up housing care for older people.
What will the inquiry look at?
The inquiry will investigate:
- How many homes for rent the nation should be building to meet the needs of its ageing population.
- Who should be building these homes.
- The barriers to the supply of affordable and secure rental housing.
- The design, care and provision characteristics that these homes need to include.
It will make proposals for policies to achieve the needed quantity and quality of homes to rent.
