Peabody adopts the Rooney Rule
We have introduced the Rooney rule as part of our wider work to promote equality, diversity and inclusion.
The new approach means that all shortlists for Board Members, Executive Director, Directors and Heads of Service roles will have a least one Black and Minority Ethnicity (BAME) candidate and one female candidate.
A supporter of Leadership 2025, Peabody has made a commitment to have greater diversity among its leadership, including BAME and wider communities.
We employ 3,100 people and also launched an equality, diversity and inclusion strategy earlier this year and are developing a new approach to talent management to ensure that employees reach their full potential.
Brendan Sarsfield, Chief Executive at Peabody, said: “As an organisation that strives to listen to and know our residents, it is important that we reflect the diversity of our customers at every level.
"While we are a diverse organisation, we recognise that we can do more to make sure we have the strongest workforce possible. This is just one of the initiatives we have put in place to ensure diversity remains at the fore of our talent management strategy.”
