About the awards
The First Time Buyer Awards are now in their seventh year and are the biggest of their kind. They recognise companies which are helping first time buyers to get on to the property ladder and use industry experts, a panel of readers and an online public vote to determine the best housing projects in the UK.
The Affordable Housing Provider of the Year award goes to an organisation that has shown innovation in the way they design, build and market their properties as well as offering a variety of services which can help first time buyers on to the property ladder.
Sarah Butler, Director of Sales and Marketing at Peabody said:
"We are delighted that our hard work to help first time buyers onto the housing ladder has been recognised by both industry experts and the public. We have been providing high-quality homes and opportunities for Londoners for over 150 years.
"With an ambitious plan to build over 1,000 new homes a year, we continue to deliver affordable homes across a range of tenures, while also providing a variety of products and services to help people own their first home."
Lynda Clark, Editor of First Time Buyer Magazine commented:
"The judges and readers could not fail to be impressed with the extra lengths that Peabody go to in order to help first timers onto the housing ladder. Not only do they support people into homeownership but they create thriving new communities of quality homes with strong support networks.
"Our congratulations go to everyone at the Peabody team who should feel very proud of this achievement."
As well as winning the top prize, Peabody was highly commended in two other categories: Best Urban Regeneration for its work at Pembury Circus and Best Show Home for the Chancery Building at Embassy Gardens.
