Apprenticeship Fair

Over 350 young Londoners attended Peabody’s first-ever Apprenticeship Fair which took place in Islington.

The event, in partnership with Help on your Doorstep, gave 16–24 year olds the opportunity to meet different organisations and discover the opportunities available.

Peabody's Director of Community Programmes, Veronica Kirwan said: "The day was a huge success with all attendees, both individuals and organisations saying how much they got out of it. We hope the event will go some way in helping individuals to reach their full potential."

Ami Wyman, aged 23, said: "Events like this help people like me to sign up to an apprenticeship which could lead to a job. It also gives me the chance to meet people from different organisations rather than meeting them for the first time at an interview which can be intimidating. I’ve had some really helpful feedback about my CV and I am able to leave here with a clearer direction of what the next steps are for my future career path."

A big thank you to all the providers who took part. We're glad the fair attracted hundreds of young Londoners and we plan to hold further apprenticeship fairs in the future.

Peabody's commitment

Supporting Londoners into apprenticeships and jobs is one of Peabody’s top priorities. In the last 12 months, we have placed over 1000 people into employment, 147 of these have been apprenticeships. Each of the apprentices has received a structured training programme, career support and guidance, internal and external study opportunities.
