How we make a difference
A look at the impact of our community programmes over the last twelve months.
Building thriving communities is a priority for us – it’s right there in our mission statement. We’ve allocated over £20m since 1997 to support our residents and create opportunities for people across the capital.
How are we doing?
We've just published a report which sets out our activities and the impact of our community programmes over the past twelve months.

This 16-page publication focuses on six key areas:
- Employment and training
Over the last year, for example, we have helped 525 people into jobs or apprenticeships. - Community development
We have 22 community centres and we have helped to establish management committees to run them. We also provide ongoing support to those committees. - Volunteering
We’ve increased the number of active volunteers to 572. - Young people’s services
We're helping over 200 young people gain nationally recognised accredited awards. - Pembury children’s community
We've launched a ten-year programme to improve the lives of children and families on the Pembury estate in Hackney, supporting more than 100 young people and 80 parents to date. - Activate (a health and wellbeing programme funded by the Big Lottery)
We're helping over 10,000 Londoners improve their physical and mental wellbeing.
