Peabody in the news

Two Peabody community projects were recognised at awards showcasing the very best examples of residents, landlords and contractors working together.

Youth projects Your Choice, Your Future, and Vale’s Nails, were amongst winners at the regional awards organised by the Tenant Participation Advisory Service (TPAS) on 6 February. They’ll join others from around the country, at the national finals in Warwick on 9 July 2015.

Anti-knife crime poster campaign Your Choice, Your Future, won the regional award for Excellence in Digital Engagement. Created by a group aged 16–19 as part of the Big Lottery Funded Staying Safe project, it aims to deliver the hard-hitting message that knife crime can only end in two ways — prison or death.

Vale’s Nails was recognised for excellence in youth involvement. The creative pilot project was developed by Peabody in partnership with ART AGAINST KNIVES, and egaged with 101 young women who live on and around our Strawberry Vale estate in Barnet.

Reading From the Start, our literacy project delivered in partnership with VINCI Facilities, was also shortlisted in the "Excellence in Contractor Engagement" category.

“We’re delighted that both projects have been recognised by these resident-focused awards," said Veronica Kirwan, our community programmes director. "Congratulations and well done to all involved.”
