Peabody wins national housing award
Peabody named "Social Landlord Of The Year" at this year’s Housing Excellence awards, fighting off stiff competition from across the housing sector
Now in its eleventh year, this prestigious award highlights and rewards those who are leading the way in the social housing sector.
We were commended for our work helping residents achieve their full potential, and commitment to providing great services and quality homes across London.
Awarded: The category's other nominees were Your Housing Group and Places for People
"We are delighted to win this award, which recognises the strength of our achievements over the past year," says Stephen Howlett, our Chief Executive.
"We are meeting our ambitions to invest in our existing homes and services and develop new housing, which is so badly needed in London. These are exciting times for Peabody.
"Our strong financial position, coupled with our enduring mission to make London a city of opportunity for all, means we will do even more to support our residents and Londoners to achieve their aspirations.”
New homes for London
We recently launched a new website, www.peabodysales.co.uk, and private property sales service, both dedicated to delivering new homes for Londoners. As well as introducing outstanding private sale and shared ownership properties to a city that’s facing a shortage of good new homes, we are ploughing the profits from our sales back into our social housing and community schemes.
Our sales and development teams are planning to deliver 1,000 new homes per year for the next three years, and are on target to supply the first 1,000 by March 2015, contributing to Boris Johnson’s ambitious plans for the construction of 42,000 new homes in the city per year.
We’re building new homes right across London: take a look at the exciting new developments we’re building now.
