Peabody in the news

Our Silchester development has been commended under the residential category at the New London Architecture Awards.

Our Silchester development has been commended under the residential category at the New London Architecture Awards, which recognise the very best in architecture, planning and development in the capital.

A jury of international experts in the field of urban planning, property and design decided to award our development near Latimer Road tube station at the NLA Annual Lunch last week.

The Silchester development was designed by award winning architects Haworth Tompkins and will provide 45 larger properties for rent, 39 smaller properties for shared ownership and a further 28 smaller homes for sale on the open market.

The scheme will also provide a new community building and retail space to improve the wider estate. A ground breaking event took place on 12 July to mark the beginning of work at the Silchester estate. The work is expected to be complete in March 2015.

Craig Horn, Principle Development Manager at Peabody said: "It's great that Silchester has been recognised by the NLA Awards. It’s a real boost to the team who are working so hard to build a fantastic development that will provide many family homes and contribute to the wider community."
Joanna Sutherland, Associate Director at Haworth Tompkins said:
"We are thrilled to receive a commendation for Silchester at the NLA Awards. Working with Peabody and the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea, implementing a major regeneration project, has been a rewarding process and we look forward to seeing the project completed."

All shortlisted projects from the awards will be showcased in the year-round New London exhibition in the NLA galleries at The Building Centre and in the 2013/14 edition of the New London publication.
