Advice service nominated for award
Our Home Energy Advice Service has been shortlisted for a Sustainable Housing award
The Sustainable Housing awards recognise efforts made in tackling fuel poverty, cutting carbon emissions and 'greening' the UK’s housing stock. Our Home Energy Advice Service, which was launched in May 2013, has been shortlisted in the 'Energy-saving Initiative of the Year' category.
As a result of this initiative, Peabody energy advisers visit residents at home free of charge to give practical advice about using heating system, radiators and thermostats – helping them to keep warm while keeping bills under control.
Graeme Maughan, Peabody's Sustainability Manager, said: "I'm really proud to see the Sustainability team's Home Energy Advice Service nominated for an award.
"We have already identified around £40,000 of savings from residents' energy and water bills. The nomination highlights the hard work that has gone in to help residents' who live in fuel poverty and those who want to make their home more environmentally friendly."
