Transfer Specialist

We are looking for a volunteer to provide assistance to Peabody households in maximising their housing transfer options using various external transfer systems.

Activities: You will engage with residents who have low to medium support needs to register on multiple external systems and effectively communicate process to resident whilst empowering them to take necessary actions where appropriate.

You will also be required to manage multiple cases to schedule tasks, as well as general befriending and emotional support of clients who might be facing one or more of the following issues: Mental health problems, difficulties with family responsibilities, isolation due to age, disability, ill health and language or literacy barriers.

Requirements  

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Commitment to maintaining professional boundaries when working with people who are disadvantaged due to their medical conditions and vulnerable needs
  • Friendly and professional attitude

You will need to have good administrative skills, intermediate Microsoft Office skills in particular Excel and Outlook. You will also need to have exceptional diary management skills and be a strong communicator both written and verbal.

Location: Various.

Hours: Volunteers will be required for 2 days a week for 4-7 hours each day. The placement will last for a minimum of 6 months. Hours are flexible and negotiable to suit the volunteer.

Volunteer Housing Assistant - SE1

We are looking for two Volunteer Housing Assistants to support their Neighbourhood Managers.

Activities: This role involves volunteering within the Neighbourhood Services Team. As a volunteer, you will be engaging with residents with varying support needs. You will have an opportunity to learn more about estate management, resident involvement, health & safety and day to day services undertaken by neighbourhood managers.

Requirements

  • Good IT Skills including ability to use Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Willingness to learn new skills and a commitment to working as part of a team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Support with general work such as mail outs to residents, tenancy audits, minute taking, walkabouts and health & safety inspections
  • Punctual and reliable

Location: Camberley House, London NW1.

Hours: Volunteers will be required for a minimum of 2 days a week. The placement will last for 3 months. Hours are flexible and negotiable to suit the volunteer.

Volunteer Project Administrator

We are looking are looking for two Project Administrators to support their Networx Project.

Activities: As a volunteer you will be dealing with internal and external queries relating to the Networx project, processing volunteer applications via our recruitment avenues.

You will also be expected to participate in and attend roadshows and publicity events relating to Networx as well as maintaining and keeping records of service users and volunteers.

Requirements

  • You will be expected to have an awareness of the difficulties faced by those who are socially isolated and vulnerable and/or have special needs
  • Basic IT Skills including ability to use Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Willingness to learn new skills and a commitment to working as part of a team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Good organisational skills

Location: Walworth Road, London SE17.

Hours: Volunteers will be required for 3 days a week between the hours of 10am – 4.00pm. The placement will last for 3 months and possibly reviewed for an additional 3 months.

Volunteer Support Assistant

We are looking for a Volunteer Support Assistant to support their Volunteers Team.

Activities: You will be dealing with incoming enquiries from new and existing volunteers and responding appropriately to emails. You will assist in matching new volunteers with appropriate roles and occasionally liaising with colleagues to research new available roles.

General office admin duties including filing, photocopying, scanning, envelope-stuffing.

Requirements  

  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Experience in a customer service environment
  • Well-spoken with good knowledge of the English language
  • Confident telephone manner with excellent communication skills
  • Exceptional time management skills with ability to prioritise and organise  workload

Location: Walworth Road, SE17.

Hours: Volunteers will be required for 2 days a week between 10am – 4pm. These days are flexible and will be discussed with the Volunteer Coordinator. The placement will last for 3 months initially and possibly renewed after this time.

Net Worx IT Tutors (Digital Champions)

We are looking for IT Tutors to work with older people who are interested in learning computer and internet skills.

Activities: This role involves helping older people and other service users or learners to find out about IT services within their community. You will provide information about the project in the community, organise events and take part in forums that will help promote the project.

You will also plan and run training workshops to older people.

Requirements

Be organised, punctual, friendly, basic IT skills, approachable and patient, with good listening skills, a willingness to learn, an ability to respect others and respect confidentiality.

Location: Various locations across Peabody.

Hours: Volunteers will be required for up to 3 hours a week for one day a week. The placement will require a minimum commitment of 12 weeks.

Receptionist, Leyton

A Receptionist is required within our Leyton office in E10. The successful candidate will help support with basic admin duties, receptionist cover. You will helping to provide a welcoming and professional reception service, greeting visitors, answering the telephone, dealing with enquiries and booking appointments for the Employment & Training Advisors.

Activities: You will be the first point of contact for customers entering the office, in addition to that you will be required to answer incoming calls and fielding all enquiries through to the relevant departments, you will keep a log of all enquiries taken.

Requirements

Be organised, punctual, friendly, basic IT skills, approachable and patient, with good listening skills, a willingness to learn, an ability to respect others and respect confidentiality  

Location: Leyton, E10.

Hours: Volunteers will be required 2 days a week (Monday and Wednesdays). Hours are flexible and negotiable to suit the volunteer and the project.
