Kevin Aris
Business systems support and training officer

Kevin joined the Community Based Housing Association (CBHA), a subsidiary of Peabody, in 1995, before moving to his current role in 2007. Although he had enjoyed his job as a property services officer at CBHA, his desire to work more in IT and group training influenced his decision to move over to Peabody.

Currently, Kevin devises and implements solutions to correct corrupt data and inconsistencies in the internal housing and finance system, and designs and coordinates internal training programmes for this and other business systems used throughout the business.

What do you like most about working for Peabody?
"T
he team I have around me have welcomed me and given me all the support I need to do well in my role. They are patient and are always happy to explain things in depth and step by step when needed. They have made me feel very confident in an environment that is new to me as I know that I can go to them with any problems and get all the help I need."

Stephen Burns
Community services director
Stephen joined Peabody in 1998, attracted initially by our reputation, history and powerful mission to fight poverty in London.

He has responsibility for service delivery in four areas including:

  • high quality, effective employment and training programmes
  • first-class supported housing management and services
  • innovative youth strategies
  • a range of resident-led community development programmes

In order to ensure sustainable delivery of these services he is also responsible for achieving external fundraising targets.

Stephen has played a vital role in transforming Peabody from what was mainly a housing association with some community activities, into an organisation that really values communities and aims to provide opportunities for residents and other Londoners to participate fully in society.

What do you like most about working for Peabody?
"There are two things that I most like about working for Peabody - the dedicated staff that I work with every day and the opportunity that my role gives me to make a positive difference to the quality of life for many Londoners."

Alyssa Ramsey
Peabody Direct trainer

Alyssa joined us in 2006 to work for Peabody Direct, the first point of contact for all residents to call Peabody.

She is responsible for the recruitment, induction, training and development of our customer service officers, ensuring that they are up to date with any changes to policies and procedures that will have an impact on our customers. Another key part of her role lies in building relationships between Peabody Direct and other Peabody departments to improve the flow of exchange of information, business processes, and the service we provide to our customers.

What do you like most about working for Peabody?
"Peabody is
a highly customer focused and forward thinking organisation, and I find the positive company ethos inspiring. There is a real sense of commitment to staff. I am very grateful for the development opportunities that I have been given since I have worked here and am proud to say that I am a Peabody employee."
