Pets

We allow residents to keep pets according to the conditions set out in your tenancy agreement. You are allowed to keep cats, small caged animals, caged birds and fish in tanks, as long as they are kept in line with the conditions of the tenancy agreement.

You can only keep a dog if your home has a private garden and its own entrance, or it is a hearing or guide dog.  You may need our written permission depending on the conditions of your tenancy agreement.

If you choose to keep a pet, you must meet the following conditions:

  • all animals must be cared for properly and kept under control, and must not cause a nuisance to other residents
  • animals must not be allowed to foul public areas
  • you must clear up any mess immediately
  • animals must not damage our property
  • dogs must be kept on a lead in shared areas and must not enter children’s play areas

Please note: This information applies to tenants in social housing. If you are a keyworker or market rent tenant please check your tenancy agreement. If you are a homeowner please check your lease.
