Moving out
Demand for our homes is high, so it is important that when people move out we are able to re-let properties as soon as possible. If you are moving, you are entitled to a refund of one week's rent if you follow our moving out procedures:
- give us four weeks notice in writing, stating the end date which must be a Sunday
- make sure that your rent is paid up to the end date, including any charges for garages or stores
- leave your property, including any garages or stores, clean and empty of all your belongings and furniture
- ensure that any lodgers or subtenants have moved out
- return your key to Peabody Direct
- leave a forwarding address
If you leave without giving proper notice, you will have to pay the rent until the tenancy has been properly ended. You will also be charged for any repairs that may be your responsibility.
Help us ensure that our homes are being used properly: if there is a Peabody home in your area that seems empty please let us know by calling Peabody Direct.
