How a resident is enjoying lower energy bills and a warmer home, following a Home Energy Advice Team visit.

Dora (pictured) lives on a Peabody estate. 

After hearing about HEAT, she rang Peabody Direct to make an appointment.  A week later, Clive from the team paid her a visit, and Dora is very happy with the results. 

'I didn’t realise what a difference all this would make'

She explains: “He came around at a time to suit me and the whole thing took 30–40 minutes. He showed me how to regulate my heating and advised about the most economical time to do my washing. I didn’t realise what a difference all this would make.” 

Clive also gave Dora advice about draught-proofing, which has helped make her home "a lot warmer,” she says. 

Dora also gave Clive permission to contact the gas and electricity suppliers on her behalf to query some of her payments. 

Ways to save money

“I was paying so much for my gas and electricity bills,” she points out. “It has really helped me save money in a number of ways.”
