Find out if your engineer is registered
On 1 April 2009 CORGI was replaced by the Gas Safe Register as the official gas safety body.
All of Peabody's gas contractors are registered with the new body.
If residents want to check whether an engineer is registered with the Gas Safe Register, then they should ask to see their card. All registered engineers have an ID card with their licence number and a photograph. The licence number is easily verified on the Gas Safe website: www.gassaferegister.co.uk/help or tel: 0800 408 5500 where confirmation of the engineer’s name will be given.
The health and safety executive, responsible for regulating gas safety in Great Britain, will oversee the Gas Safe Register. The new register will provide enhanced levels of service and clearly written rules of registration.
If you have any questions about the new scheme, visit the Gas Safe Register website: www.gassaferegister.co.uk or speak to the Peabody gas servicing team, tel: 0207 021 4610.
