Delivering affordable warmth
With recent increases in fuel prices a reduction in natural resources, providing homes that customers can afford to heat is becoming a challenge.
We will increase the energy efficiency of our homes through our DECENT and SOUND improvement programmes, which have been delivered year-on-year.
We have:
- Increased the average Standard Assessment Procedure (SAP) score for our homes from 57 in 2002 to 63 in 2008. Through DECENT and SOUND and other housing investment programmes we have:
- installed new boilers that are cheaper to run;
- insulated loft, cavity and solid walls; and
- installed new windows and draught proofing.
- Trained our staff to provide energy efficiency advice.
