More than 350 young Peabody residents joined Olympic athletes, legendary footballers and famous pop stars for a Let's Move! event hosted by American First Lady Michelle Obama on Friday 27 July.
The residents, aged between nine and 13, spent an unforgettable morning taking part in a range of sporting activities with Carl Lewis (pictured left), David Beckham, Nadia Comaneci, Spongebob Squarepants and many more.
Music from acts including The Wanted and Katy B soundtracked the event at Winfield House, Regent's Park, the private residence of American Ambassador Louis Susman, who is also our Honorary President.
In 2012, our 150th anniversary year, it was great to see so many young people enjoy this special day. According to
a Daily Telegraph report, more than 1,000 were in attendance.
Our Chief Executive, Stephen Howlett, said:
"The children from our estates in London, their parents, and our employees, were thrilled to have been invited to take part in the event last Friday.

"Through our Activate London programme, we encourage our residents to lead healthy, active lifestyles, and the event was a great example of how fun and sociable it is to play sport."
