We want our residents who have made a difference to individuals or in their community, and are an inspiration to others, to have their moment to shine at the Olympic Torch relay.
The organisers are looking for 'inspirational people' who have made a contribution to their community.
There are some residents we've been notified about and we will nominate but we also want you to put forward people you think should be recognised for 'making a contribution to their community'.
If you know of someone then nominate them to be a torchbearer at the 2012 Olympics. However, if you feel you’ve made a huge contribution and should carry the flame then nominate yourself!
The nomination process is open until 11.59pm on 29 June 2011 and don't forget, you can nominate more than one person, as long as they are aged 12 and over, with no upper age limit.
If you make a nomination we would be keen to hear it, email us at info@peabody.org.uk.
How do I nominate someone?
Submit 100-150 words on why you believe your nominee deserves to carry the Olympic flame and include their personal details.
Note: Before you do this you must get permission from the person you are going to nominate.
Judging panels will be set up in each region of the UK to choose torchbearers for their area. Torchbearers are expected to be revealed from December 2011 onwards.
Nominating yourself
You can also nominate yourself by downloading and filling in the self-nomination form.
