Peabody’s short notice inspection, carried out by the Audit Commission in December 2009, identified the need for improvement in repairs and maintenance – while it recognised the organisation’s strength in resident involvement and gas servicing.
The resulting action plan, developed with the help of residents, identified a range of measures to address the Audit Commission’s findings and improve services.
The Tenant Services Authority has written to Peabody to confirm that the necessary work has been carried out – and that the action plan is now complete. The letter goes on to thank Peabody’s employees for their work in implementing the inspection’s recommendations and praises the contribution made by residents, particularly the Resident Review Committee, in scrutinising progress along the way.
On his blog last week, Chief Executive Steve Howlett wrote: “I'd like to say a big thank you to residents for helping to shape the action plan and providing important feedback, and to staff at Peabody for their hard work in making sure that it was successfully implemented.
“From here, we’re determined to raise the bar and to keep improving. Onwards and upwards.”
