Tree-planting at Millbank

01 December 2011

We held a tree planting ceremony to welcome residents of Millbank estate, Pimlico, into the Peabody community.

Millbank was transferred from Crown Estate to Peabody ownership, along with the Victoria Park, Lee Green and Cumberland Market estates, earlier this year.

The event (pictured below) was attended by Mark Field, MP for Cities of London and Westminster, and local ward Councillors Alan Bradley and Nicholas Evans.

Dr Ben Bowling, chair of the Millbank Residents’ Association, was present, alongside a number of residents and Peabody staff.

The Peabody well-being wagon was on hand to provide mince pies and mulled wine.

Peabody Chief Executive Stephen Howlett spoke of "our commitment to ensuring communities like Millbank stay together and continue to flourish, and that these homes continue to be available for key workers in London."
