We run a fashion design project, 'Threads', on the Pembury estate in Hackney.
Funded by Children in Need, Threads is aimed at girls aged between 10 and 18 who are at risk from gangs. The project aims to teach them skills in fashion design, tailoring, textiles, jewellery making and styling. There are also opportunities to improve basic skills such as numeracy, literacy and budgeting.
Visit our Flickr gallery to see some images of our students in their creations at a recent show at the London College of Fashion in Shepherd's Bush.
If you'd like to find out more about Threads, please contact Natalie Bell at Natalie.Bell@peabody.org.uk or tel: 07713 083 995.
