Have your say on redevelopment plans for Pembury Circus

Pembury Circus, part of the Pembury estate, is located on the corner of Pembury Road and Dalston Lane. Peabody has been working with housebuilders Bellway Homes to draw up regeneration plans for the area which will see the introduction of new homes, shops and community facilities.

Proposals include:

  • 300 – 350 high-quality new homes, including 50 per cent affordable and a new landmark tall building at the front of the site
  • Specific accommodation for the over 55s
  • New community facilities for local residents
  • Provision for a small supermarket, new shops, restaurants and bars
  • A landscaped public square area, providing new and vibrant open space
  • New safe and accessible routes in to the estate
  • High levels of sustainability throughout the development

These plans will complete a programme of regeneration that began when Peabody acquired Pembury estate from Hackney Council in March 2000. So far Peabody has invested more than £75 million improving the estate.

If you are a local resident and would like to see the plans and give your opinion, you can come along to one of the public exhibitions being held at the Pembury estate senior citizens centre at the following times:

  • 4pm-8pm on Wednesday 11 August
  • 4pm-8pm on Thursday 12 August
  • 10am-4pm on Saturday 14 August
