Peabody sponsors London well-being conference

07 January 2010

Due to be held on 2 February, the London Well-Being Conference: Better Mental Health will bring together leaders in housing, government, charity and mental health provision to discuss mental well-being in the context of social housing.

Delegates from London and across the UK will review latest policy, strategy and best practice, and consider how residents’ well-being can be promoted through partnership working, increased awareness of services, and good urban design.

Peabody’s chief executive, Stephen Howlett, said, ‘The London Well-being Conference: Better Mental Health is an important opportunity to discuss and debate issues surrounding mental health in our communities. Through initiatives such as Activate London, Peabody is committed to promoting good mental health among our residents and others in social housing ’

The conference is sponsored by Peabody as part of its Activate London programme. Funded by the Big Lottery Fund, Activate London promotes physical exercise, good mental health and healthy eating through a wide range of innovative grass-roots community projects.

Led by Peabody, Activate London is delivered in partnership with Broomleigh Housing, CBHA, Circle Anglia, Family Mosaic, Metropolitan Housing and Southern Housing.
