Peabody in the media spotlight

08 December 2011

Solar panel funding cuts, a question in the Houses of Parliament, our digital divide campaign, celebrating young people, a BBC documentary: it's been a busy time for Peabody in the media. Here's a selection of our recent appearances.

We featured in the recent BBC2 documentary, "When Bankers Were Good".

On 5 December, lastminute.com founder Martha Lane Fox mentioned us in her piece for the Guardian. The UK digital champion is heading the campaign to tackle the digital divide by getting more people online. This followed her acknowledgement of our work at the Peabody 150th anniversary reception

Two days later we made the Evening Standard, thanks to our involvement in the Youth Oskars awards ceremony.

On 8 December it is the Daily Telegraph's turn. An article on the digital divide campaign references Peabody:

"Whose chief executive Stephen Howlett compared broadband access to the clean water that the trust focused on providing when it was set up in 1862."

Steve's blog on the Government's decision to cut solar panel funding, a decision which we questioned in Parliament via Joan Ruddock MP, led to coverage in 24Housing magazine.
