After a successful launch last year, Peabody’s second London well-being conference considers well-being initiatives in the context of the big society.
The event at Glaziers Hall near London Bridge on 17 February will bring together 150 leaders from the worlds of social housing, health, well-being, government, social enterprise and the private sector. The conference aims to set out the government’s big society vision, identifying the key challenges and opportunities for registered providers of social housing – and focusing on how well-being initiatives will be protected and enhanced by the big society agenda.
The key topics the conference will explore are:
-
How well-being fits into the big society agenda
-
The impact of changing housing policy on London's most vulnerable people and communities – and the roles of the government, intermediaries and residents under the big society banner
-
The successes and future delivery of existing well-being programmes such as Activate London
-
The role of the government's society-driven solutions aimed at young people and social housing residents, including volunteering, social media, and supported living.
Keynote speakers confirmed for the event include RSA Chief Executive Matthew Taylor, Peabody Chief Executive Stephen Howlett, V Inspired Chief Executive Terry Ryall, Big Lottery Fund’s England Director Dharmendra Kanani, Talk About Local founder Will Perrin, Assistant Director of the Neighbourhoods National Housing Federation Helen Williams and Peabody’s Executive Director of New Business Stephen Burns.
Attendance at the conference is by invitation. If you'd like to attend, please visit the London Well-being Conference website.
