Parking policy set for review

03 December 2010

Earlier this year, the government announced clampers were to be banned from operating on private land in England and Wales. Under the new legislation, penalties are to be introduced for clamping vehicles or towing them away.

Peabody is reviewing its policy on parking in light of the proposed changes. We will be making amendments in line with the new legislation once it has been agreed by Parliament. When the new law comes into force, we will notify all of our residents, and our contract with our parking enforcement contractor will be amended to reflect the changes.

We have consulted residents through our Customer Panel to help us assess the impact of the new legislation, particularly on estates where illegal parking poses a problem.
