Don't be at risk!
Each 30 people die from the effects of carbon monoxide poisoning
and others are seriously injured by explosions caused by faulty gas
appliances. This is why it's important to have your home's gas safety checked every year, even
if the gas appliances in your home seem to be working perfectly.

Peabody’s legal obligation
Peabody has a legal obligation as a landlord to have a valid gas safety record for all resident dwellings.
Peabody residents' legal obligation
It is a requirement of all tenancy agreements to provide access for a gas safety check to be undertaken.
Don’t put your health or that of your family at risk by preventing access to our engineers when they call to do a gas safety check.
Court action
Don’t end up in court for failure to give access – it puts you at risk and can lead to a court case. In recent cases residents were ordered to pay over £650 in court costs or forced us to apply for possession of their home in order to gain access to complete a gas safety check.
Resident involvement
If you are a Peabody resident and would like to influence how gas servicing and repairs is delivered to you, please contact our gas safety team.
