Get involved in the Digital Inclusion project

20 January 2010

A new digital media project is being launched in three London boroughs to bring older and younger people together.

We're looking for 16-25 year-olds to develop and deliver a series of workshops for older people in Southwark, Tower Hamlets and Islington. The eight sessions will cover topics like the internet, social networking, mobile phones, digital cameras and preparing for the digital TV switchover.

Supported by national youth charity vinvolved, the project runs until April 2010. The workshops will make use of Peabody’s IT facilities at the Sundial Centre, the Whitechapel Centre, Darwin Court, the Gateway Centre and the Whitecross Centre.

There's a range of benefits for volunteers and older participants, from free training and learning new skills to free mobile top-up or iTunes vouchers.

If you're aged between 16 and 25 and you're interested in volunteering – or if you're over 50 and you'd like to attend the workshops – you can find out more here.
