A new money guidance service offers free face-to-face help and information on the money matters that affect everyday life. It covers areas like budgeting, claiming benefits, borrowing, tax, planning for retirement and dealing with changes in financial circumstances.
The service is run by the Financial Services Authority (FSA) in partnership with the government. It employs FSA-trained money guides to help people find out more about the financial issues that affect them. The money guides offer impartial, jargon-free guidance – and they won’t try to sell you anything.
The service is already available in selected parts of the country and it’s now being rolled out nationally. Peabody has been given two weekly slots when residents can book a free 45-minute appointment to see a money guide.
Mondays: 2-5pm at the Gateway Centre, 66 Lancaster Street, London SE1 0RZ.
Thursdays: 9am-12pm at the Hugh Cubitt Centre, 48 Collier Street, London N1 9QZ.
Sessions are available from 22 March 2010. To arrange an appointment please email us at money.matters@peabody.org.uk providing:
We will reply within two working days to give you a precise time – or suggest an alternative date if there are no available slots on your preferred day. If you need to cancel it’s important you let us know as early as you can, so we can offer the empty slot to somebody else.
You can also find free, straightforward financial information online at Moneymadeclear.fsa.gov.uk.
