Fancy volunteering your time at Peabody?

20 August 2009

Peabody offers a great range of volunteering opportunities, which can be rewarding for the volunteers as well as the people who benefit from our services. We aim to provide volunteers with the best experiences to create opportunities for personal development.

Volunteers have always been vital to the services we provide as they have assisted in a variety of ways by helping out:

  • in our offices
  • in our sheltered housing schemes
  • in our youth clubs
  • in the neighbourhood learning centres
  • in community centres
  • at community events
  • and becoming committee members - to help make positive changes

You would work in different directorates, in various roles, such as community services, where volunteers are involved as befrienders, administrators, receptionists, gardeners, etc.

Volunteers registered with Peabody are well supported, given proper training and are reimbursed for out-of-pocket expenses.

We will be looking to further develop the roles we offer to volunteers, as well as encouraging and empowering you, to make a positive impact.
