Exhibition showcases Pembury Circus plans

15 November 2010

Plans to create up to 280 new homes with community facilities and commercial space on the corner of Pembury Road and Dalston Lane have come a step closer to becoming a reality. Formerly home to two blocks of neglected bedsits and an underground car park – a hotspot for anti-social behaviour – the area was cleared in 2005. Since then, Peabody has worked with Pembury estate residents and other local groups to develop proposals for its redevelopment.

The resulting plans have now been submitted to Hackney Council for consideration and we expect to hear whether they have been approved by March 2011. They’ll be on display in a public exhibition at the Senior Citizens’ Centre on Hindrey Road between 4pm and 7pm on Thursday 18 of November and Friday 19 of November. The exhibition is open to anyone – and local residents or any members of the public who wish to discuss the proposals further are encouraged to attend.
