Christmas at Darwin Court

11 December 2008

Darwin Court will be celebrating with a live music comedy performance followed by Christmas lunch on Wednesday 17 December.

The festivities are open to everybody – whether you’re a Peabody resident or not. Reserve your place with reception at Darwin Court and you can choose from a menu (pdf, 199KB) that includes the traditional roast turkey – or lamb, salmon and nut roast – as well as mince pies and Christmas pudding.

The fun begins at 11am, with the Frantic Theatre Company’s Christmas Variety Show. A one-person performance that promises its audience “a real kick”, the free show includes a mince pie to munch on while you’re watching. Christmas lunch follows at midday, for which there’s a charge of £8.50 per head. You can book by leaving your name at Darwin Court's reception. And if you leave a £2 deposit at reception by 5pm on Friday 12 December, your name will be entered for a prize draw to win a £25 Marks & Spencer voucher.

We’d also like to let users of the Community Resource Centre know about our Christmas closing times. The centre will close at midday on 24 December and reopen on Friday 2 January. Classes will resume on Monday 5 January. The swimming pool will close at 8pm on Tuesday 23 December and open again at 8am on Monday 5 January. Lastly, the café will open only for breakfast on 24 December and then close until 8.30am on Monday 5 January.
