On Tuesday 16 December, the St John’s Hill Centre is to be transformed into an Eastern-style bazaar, in what promises to be a vibrant and colourful event for over-55s in Wandsworth.
Supported by Activate London, the bazaar will showcase the work of students attending Peabody’s Activate courses in Wandsworth – as well as ensuring older residents in the area have an opportunity to get out and enjoy themselves over the festive season.
There’s an Aladdin’s cave of treats in store for visitors to the centre, with a marketplace of craft stalls, home-made cakes and food gifts, as well as bric-a-brac, a raffle and a tombola. Entertainment will be provided by The Gold and Silver Players drama group and musician Hugh O’Kelly, and there’ll be an opportunity to sample some delicious Middle Eastern food at lunchtime.
The bazaar will be open from 11am until 3pm. Tickets cost £5.00 – and can be purchased in advance or on the door.
For more information or to book tickets, contact Tina Wood or Louise Coster at The Gatehouse, Peabody Estate, Eckstein Road, SW11 1TY or call 020 7021 4340.
