Change to reporting repairs for former Crown Estate residents

Residents will need to call Peabody Direct to report repairs

From 1 February 2012 residents of Cumberland Market, Millbank, Victoria Park and Lee Green estates (former Crown Estate properties) will need to report repairs to Peabody Direct by phone on (020) 7021 4444 or on the Peabody Direct freephone 0800 022 4040 (only free from landlines, mobile charges may apply and these may vary).

Lines will now be open for booking appointments from Monday to Friday, 8am-8pm. If you have an emergency repair outside these hours your call will go to our out-of-hours emergency service.

As a result of the expiry of our contract with Osborne,  we have decided to appoint Axis to take on the response repairs service until we let a new contract. Axis has extensive experience of managing response repairs contracts. They are currently managing the void refurbishment and Decent Homes improvement programme for Peabody on the former Crown Estate properties and know the estates well.

Peabody will be launching a full re-tender of your response repairs contract within the next year. Resident Association representatives will be invited to be fully involved in the process of appointing the new contractor.

Other regular maintenance contracts will be carried out by Peabody’s existing contractors as follows:

  • Electrical testing will be continue to be carried out by Lightside at Cumberland Market and Millbank, and by AJS at Victoria Park and Lee Green
  • Lifts servicing and repairs will be carried out by Apex
  • Repairs to door entry systems and TV aerials will be carried out by Delaware
  • Water testing will be carried out by Hertel
  • Fire safety work will continue to be carried out by Double L
  • Gas servicing and repairs (including your annual gas safety check) will be carried out by K&T
  • Mechanical works will be carried out by Eatons 

We are confident that the new arrangements will deliver a good quality repairs service, with extended call centre hours and shorter time periods given for appointments.
