This year, we celebrated the achievements of our volunteers at an awards ceremony at the House of Lords.

Hosted by Baroness Valentine, chief executive of London First, the awards ceremony on Friday, 21 October recognised individual volunteers and groups who have given their time and made a difference to their communities.
Award categories include Significant Personal Achievement, Supporting People, A Better Place and Volunteer of the Year, reflecting the wide range of ways in which volunteers work with Peabody.
Steve Howlett, Peabody Chief Executive, said, "Peabody volunteers work right across our organisation and make a huge contribution, giving some 200 hours in our community centres every week. We want to recognise that and encourage even more people to volunteer in their communities. Volunteering is a brilliant way to make a difference and gain skills and experience in return."
Peabody has increased volunteers from 50 in 2008 to over 220 as of October 2011.These volunteers support Peabody to deliver a wide range of services to people in London, including befriending and youth services, parenting skills programmes, and IT training.
Peabody has also created opportunities for volunteers in its finance, property, and neighbourhood services directorates.
