To mark its 150th anniversary, Peabody has launched an architectural competition to develop a proposal for an exemplar housing development of approximately 150 homes on a four-acre site in east London.
The winner will then be commissioned to develop the design to a full planning application.
Student entries and collaborations are welcome to enter.
Students and practices that do not meet the minimum pre-qualification criteria will be entered into a parallel competition with a cash prize for the best entry.
Shortlisted entries will form part of an exhibition.
Claire Bennie, Peabody Development Director, said:
"We’re really looking forward to seeing some fresh new ideas about the design of London communities. We want this new estate to last as long and look as good as our Victorian estates, buildings and open spaces alike."
Expressions of interest are required by 5 March 2012. Judges will be announced and a full project brief issued shortly afterwards.
