Peabody in the news

Peabody in Massachusetts, USA, recently celebrated its 100th anniversary.

Our founder George Peabody was born in South Danvers Massachusetts in 1795.

In 1868 South Danvers changed its name to 'Peabody' to honour his philanthropic work and it was incorporated as a city in 1916.

On Sunday a parade was held in Peabody as part of the 100th anniversary celebrations of the incorporation of the city. Over 40 floats took part and bands from across the country played along the two-mile route and the crowds also enjoyed costume, dance and the arts.
