Regeneration at St John's
Watch our video about this 1930s estate in Wandsworth.
Our St John’s Hill estate in Wandsworth is opposite Clapham Junction, reputedly Europe's busiest railway station.
We're currently carrying out major regeneration on this 1930s estate, replacing the existing 351 homes with 538 new ones (you can find out more about what we're doing here).
The video above tells the story of the regeneration and follows residents as they settle into their new homes.
It also looks at the creation of new artwork by artist Rodney Harris who has worked closely with residents and the local community to design four brick relief sculptures which have been incorporated into the new buildings. The sculptures capture the history of the estate as well as the memories of the residents who live there (some have been living on the estate for a very long time).
We’re building new homes right across London. Take a look at the exciting new developments we’re building now – and find out how we’re helping to meet demand for new homes by increasing the Peabody housing stock.
