A day of fun and community at Pembury
A great day of community consultation and fun for all the family.
A big thank you to everyone who made Saturday a fantastic Funday at the Pembury Estate!
More than 500 residents visited the community event, where there was free food, a bouncy castle, table football, face painting, nail painting, a jumble sale, free massages, Wii games, a DJ and lots more.
Residents gave us their views on the services we and other agencies provide, and more than 200 completed a questionnaire on issues including resident involvement, employment opportunities, repairs, antisocial behaviour.
We'll use the information to help shape the services we offer and ensure that we are meeting the needs and priorities of the local community.
"It made me feel proud to see so many residents out enjoying themselves and lots of staff from so many teams helping out," said Peabody's Director of Neighbourhoods, Joe Joseph.
A big thank you to the police and the many agencies who came along: Axis, Bellway and Ardmore, Blue Cross Animal Hospital, Gingko Gardening Services, Hackney Mind, My Home Content Insurance, Linden Children Centre, the National Literacy Project, the New Testament Church Clapton.
"The sense of community that these community events bring out is very fulfilling," said Vatel Mbami, Peabody's Assistant Head of Neighbourhoods. "Several residents kept asking when the next one will take place!"
