Bidding for a property
Choice-based lettings allows applicants for social housing, and tenants who want to transfer, to bid for Peabody homes via:
Selections website
Logging onto the website
Log on to Selections website.
1. Click on 'Login' (left-hand) button on the homepage.
2. Enter your User ID and your password (as page will open and display your band, the date you registered and number of rooms you need. It will also state if your application is registered or suspended (if registered, you can then bid for the home available).
See what bids you have made
Viewing the homes
1. On the same page, press the 'View Properties' button to see the homes available.
2. If there is a home you are interested in, press the 'Full Property Info' button - this will take you to a page with more information about the home (including the address, how much rent you would have to pay, what floor level its on and a photo of the home).
Bidding for homes
1. To bid for a home press the 'Click Here to Bid' button. Once you click on the button your bid will be registered. You can view the home in 'My Current Bids' area.
2. After making a bid using the Selections website you will be told your position in the queue for that home.
Please note: your position in the queue may change if residents in a higher band bid for that home after you have placed your bid.
Telephone bids using the interactive voice response
You will need a touch-tone phone with a hash button (#). Calls to this number are charged at local rate.
1. Phone (020) 7021 4444
2. Choose the language you want to use
3. Enter your user number
4. Enter your pin number
5. Press 1 to bid for a new home
6. Enter the advert number for the home
7. The system will confirm the home you have selected. If it is the one you want, press 1 and the bid is confirmed. If it is the wrong one, press 2 and you will be asked to enter the home's advert number again.
If you try to bid for a home you are not eligble for, your bid will not be processed and the system will tell you this.
Sending a text (SMS) message via your mobile phone
Have your user number, PIN number and the home advert numbers ready.
1. Create a new text message
2. Leaving no spaces, enter:
For example, if your User ID is 070806, your PIN number 230578 and you want to bid for two homes, with references 123456 and 246810, your text message should be:
bid#070806#230578#123456#246810
