Rent on the open market
Peabody has a number of homes available at market rent - that is at rates equivalent to privately rented accommodation in the area.
Market rents are not subsidised in any way. We gain funding for other projects and tenants benefit from our well-maintained and sometimes award-winning buildings and our considerable experience as a landlord. You can be sure of an efficient, reliable service.
Our market rent properties are open to anybody who is in full time employment and can afford the rent. Tenants are issued a six-month assured shorthold tenancy agreement, which means that you must stay for as least six months before giving notice.
Our market rent guide (PDF, 113KB) sets out what you need to do to find a property and covers deposits and other fees, references, information on the tenancy and the bills and services you would be responsible for.
You can find more on renting in the open market and keyworkers rights and responsibilities.
Peabody is proud to be accredited by the National Approved Letting Scheme, www.nalscheme.co.uk – a Government backed accreditation scheme which offers peace of mind to tenants through the knowledge that the firm they are dealing with offers clearly defined levels of customer service and standards.
